Medicinal herbs during pregnancy, dangerous herbs

Usually any expectant mother, trying not to hurt her baby, avoiding blind application of drugs and chemicals. We all understand that almost any drugs can affect health and proper fetal development. And, of course, consult with doctors about their use in that case, if you are sick.

But, when it comes to the treatment of medicinal herbs, many consider them completely harmless. We often hear these words: “What is a harmless weed”. Here is a profound mistake!

Let’s try to figure out whether weed is so harmless, according to most. As for the application of many medicinal plants there are contraindications. A pregnant woman must be especially cautious about what she takes, because it affects the lives and health of her child.

Herbs contraindicated in pregnancy

Oddly enough, but the list of medicinal plants that disrupt the correct course of pregnancy and can cause abortion (miscarriage) is very extensive. So distribute them by type of impact on a pregnant woman’s body.

Plants that can cause a miscarriage

This is the most dangerous category of medicinal plants for the pregnant woman.They all cause increased tone of the uterus and may cause abortion. Many of them are often used in various herbal training camp, and even as a seasoning for various dishes. So be careful!

Aloe Vera and other aloe species — part of the gastro-intestinal and mouth-watering fees, is used as a stimulant.

The Berberis vulgaris — stimulates appetite, is indicated for diseases of the liver and cholelithiasis, is Antianemic fees.

Medicinal oregano is mouth-watering tool, part of the gastro-intestinal, pulmonary and sedative fees.

The wild strawberry is prescribed for diseases of the intestines and stomach, kidney stones, anemia and vitamin deficiency.

Common hyssop is included in herbal preparations that are used in gastro-intestinal diseases, bronchial asthma, stenocardia, neurosis, anemia.

Buckthorn brittle — used for gastric ulcer and as a laxative.

Smellage — sometimes used as a seasoning, is diuretic, expectorant and sedative fees. Does pain.

Curly parsley is used as diuretic and digestive problems and menstrual cycle. Included in the fees applied for the treatment of gallstone and kidney stone diseases.

Common tansy is a poisonous plant! Increases blood pressure and uterine tone. Included in gastrointestinal, sedative, Antianemic fees, is indicated for swelling and headaches.

Rhubarb Tangut — prescribed as a choleretic and laxative. Disrupts the bone formation of the fetus, as it contains large amount of oxalic acid.

The radish crop — a means of improving the appetite and digestion, and prescribed for cholecystitis, as well as for colds and bronchitis. Radish increases lactation in nursing mothers and is recommended during breastfeeding, but it is contraindicated for pregnant women.

Ergot is rarely used. Very poisonous! The most dangerous herb during pregnancy.

Garlic seed is very often used.

Plants that disrupt placental circulation

Common hyssop is included in herbal preparations that are used in gastro-intestinal diseases, bronchial asthma, stenocardia, neurosis, anemia. It also increases the tone of the uterus and may cause abortion (see above).

Salvia officinalis and other varieties of sage which is included in the composition in the gastro-intestinal and diuretic fees. Administered topically to rinse with angina, stomatitis and colds. Sometimes used as seasoning in cooking.

Plants that interfere with the normal development of the fetus

The wild strawberry is prescribed for diseases of the intestines and stomach, kidney stones, anemia and vitamin deficiency. May cause a predisposition to allergies in children. It also increases tone of the uterus and may cause abortion (see above).

Seaweed contains large amounts of iodine. Can provoke the development of various deformities and abnormalities.

Rhubarb, spinach vegetable, sorrel is sour contain large amounts of oxalic acid. Can cause malformations in the fetus, as they violate the formation of bone.

Bur marigold — used as a diuretic and diaphoretic, is included in the fees for skin diseases. May cause a predisposition to allergies in children.

This list is contraindicated in pregnancy medicinal plants and herbs not limited. In the next article we will discuss herbs that have adverse effects on the pregnant women.
